Unleash your full potential.

Today is the Session Five of my Dale Carnegie Training; It was a wonderful life experience!

It was amazing that I met some old friends day. Daniel Chen, Terry Ma and Zaina all came to making up their missing sessions. We used to go with the same MBA/Business Coach, so we met at our Marathon Session often. It was the same coach sent each and every one of us to attend the Dale Carnegie Training. I did appreciate him for doing so. Dale Carnegie Training is the best thing happened to my life so far. I wish I knew this training earlier.

Today’s learning objective is

1. Energize our communication by including action to releases nervous energy

2. Become more nature when communication with others

3. Become more animated to energize and engaged others.

We started by doing a Box Factory exercise. We told this story with lots of actions. Jewel is really good at doing it. I think each one should at least see him do it once in your life time. Can you imagine a seventy years old gentleman jumped and shouted with energy and enthusiasm? That’s very impressive. It made me feel if he can do it, everyone can do it too. You are your self’s only limit.

Then we divided our group into five sections and each section of people acting the story once in front of group. Then class members voted for the one who acted with the greatest enthusiasm. Surprisely, Zaina, Terry and Daniel were all being selected out, along with Roopesh, who is also in our coaching group. Which surprised me a lot. Then I started to reflect that Deep(Our coach) is really powerful to help us figure out lots of things in life. He ignited each and every one of us’ genius. Deep, you are awesome!

Then it’s my turn to give a one minute sample presentation on how to power your communication by using Gestures. I told them the story I first climbed up to the Mission Peak last month. I started my presenation by walked around and with lots of gestures and movement. Maybe I am familiar with this group, so I felt I did pretty good!

After my presentation, class members started to do their one minute presentation. It was really fun to watch each and every one of them do it. Everyone did a great job! You can not imagine how creative they are and how great their performance is. Sarika told me we are in an ‘Advanced Class’ now. Since they are just simply excellent! I did agree with her.

I later gave another two minutes sample presentation for next class by applying LIONS rules to make our ideas clear. I felt lucky that I didn’t need to work this afternoon. So I used lots of time to prepare for these two sample talks. I believe practice makes perfect. And I like to take every available opportunities to do the presentation and learn from it.

In this sample talk, I showed them how to organize an event. Since I’ve organized lots of events. So the topic was very familiar to me. I simply pointed out four steps:

1. Speaker & Theme

2. Time & Venue

3. Marketing to reach more people

4. Call for Volunteers to help

Furthermore, I mentioned beside those tips, we do event by heart. Because we want to make things happen and we want to bring value to people. That’s the greatest thing I learned from Vicki.

Since it’s a topic I am very familar with. I did it with full of confidence and after I came back, Michael and Mihoko all said it was a good job! Then Session one was ended.

Our Session two’s learning object is:

1. Display increased levels of courage, confidence and conviction.

2. Effectively tap our reserve power

3. Develop a greater freedom for self-expression.

It started with a powerful sentence:

I know people in the world who are going to rise in the world! You know why? Let me tell you why! Simply because they know how to use their ability to get things done!

Jewel used lots of powers and energies and gestures when he said that sentence. And each one in the team needed to say the same thing, and then use one minute to express their theory too. Here is my point:

Did you notice that there are two types of people in the world? When things happen, one type choose to complain, this goes wrong, that goes wrong, everything goes wrong. But the other type choose to say nothing. They simply take the responsibility to get things done. Then move life on.

So there is someone makes things happen, someone watchs things happen and someone wondering things happen.

Today my suggestion is: Never complain. Complain can only make you feel weaker and weaker. Take the responsibility, get thing done! Responsibility will make people strong!

Seems they like the story and I felt today I was very relax too. See, that’s the peaks and valleys of life.

We finished the class around 10pm. Terry told me that he was so jealous that I am coaching such a great class. And he felt I was so lucky to have Jewel as my instructor too. I told him I’ve learned a lot from Jewel. Lots of times I don’t know if I am coaching this class or I am learning from this class. Every time I came here, I learned a lot of things. I will continue doing this coaching thing in my life since it is great experience. I absorbed lots of good energies here.

Later, I told Jewel my learning/coaching confusion too. Jewel looked into my eyes and said: I think you have the right attitude. If you only think you are here for coaching, then you won’t learn anymore. Even me, I learn a lot from every time teaching the class. I did agree with him and I felt today is a very uplifting experience.

What I learned today: Every one has great potential and reserved powers, we just need to look deep inside and unleash our own full potentials. We need to simply tell ourselves: Come on, you can do it!

The last part of the story really resonates! There are thinkers, talkers and doers in this world. I have the utmost respect for the doers :)

Yes, together we make things happen!

Did you realize that we are attracting the same kinds of people around us?
