A dollar a day, save a life.
In tonight’s Dale Carnegie session, each class member has two minutes to talk about their biggest achievement in life. Lots of people talked about the medals they win, the achievement they got. But Cinday told us something that really touched me.
She said she used to feel her life is meaningless. Until one day, she was introduced a program called ‘A dollar a day, save a life’. The idea is to donate a dollar a day to help kids in Africa to survive and receive education.
She showed the class a picture of a girl. She adapted her since she was 3 years old. Now she is 7. Then she adapted another 10 years old boy who grew up in a HIV affected village. Every once a while, he will send her a picture update that he is still alive and healthy.
She even showed us a hand written card they send to her, a very cute card.
My heart was deeply touched by those two kids. I felt that I should adopt a kid too. If I become rich, I should help a kid. Even if I am not rich now, A dollar a day is actually not too hard to save as well for a normal person, yet it’s a life saving for a kid. That’s really the true meaning of life–Bring people happiness, changing their life.
Tonight I felt I I’d like to, I wanted to, I needed to adopt a kid.
