Unload all the burden to start fresh!

olinaqian

Today is the last day of the Art of living course. It is really an unique life experience. I teased to my friends that I will ‘close the border’ for six days for this program. Some of my American friends doesn’t really know what’s the real meaning of ‘close the border’ in Chinese. In chinese Martial art, it works likethis: Imagine a monk, he choose certain days of the year, seat inside a dark quiet place, reflecting without eating and disturbing. That’s the heart I prepared for this course–This week, no work, no social, let’s close the border!

So, now it’s the end of the tunnel. What’s I’ve learned from those six days? Here is my reflectings:

1. Life has been really busy for me. Lots of times, I don’t even have time to drink water, to go to bathroom. Furthermore, I neglected my breath. This course made me take a break, observe my breath more. NowI know how to use technique to control my emotion by adjusting my breath.

2. Enjoy the current moment, be 100% focuse on current moment. We always do things in a rush. We expect we were the superman and with our magic finger everything will be taken care of properly. But we don’t enjoy the process, we only want to get things done. Look deep inside, I find out those processes are truely what my life composed of. Enjoy my every moment of the life and treat it with a gratitude, I am discovering lots of beautiful things in life.

3. Learn to forgive myself. There are lots of times we made some bad decisions in life. I often tend to easily forgive others, but I blame myself by screwing it up. I chose to hold it, I don’t let it go, which resulted a painful experience. But whatever happened, it’s the reality. I have no ability to go back and change anything. So what I learned here is to let everything go. Change the things you can change, forget the things you can’t change.

4. Whatever made your unhappy, it’s not worth it. Whoever made you unhappy, it’s not worth it either. Be yourself, accept the way you are and take it easy!

My friend said something like this before in her prayer: May Lord prepare me a pure heart, with an intergrity spirit inside. Let me start fresh and become blessed by him again. Yes, let’s unload all the burden to start fresh! :)

Hi Olina…where did your previous blogs on ArtofLiving classes go.

I wish to add few more point here that I learnt from AoL class, if you don’t mind :) .

-> Accept people and situations as they are before you try to influence them.

-> Love thy self before you love others.

pardon me for encroaching in your blog space.

Olina,
I loved your blog post on Art of Living. Each one of the points was a refresher to me. So often we forget the simple lessons in life and need to keep reminding each other on how to live life to the fullest.
Thank you so much for the post!
Regards,
Preethy
