Stay focused! You are what you think!

Being inspired by Preethy’s healthy and positivity philosophy, I decided to go Yoga twice a week and walk one hour twice a week to stay fit.

This morning, I waked up at 6:30am to catch the morning Yoga Session. When I sit inside, I strenched with the instructor. I suddenly realized that Yoga made me reflect really well, maybe because it is quiet in my surroundings. So the first thing I forced myself to do in this beautiful morning is:

Stop watching time!

Yes, I don’t allow myself to keep track of time. Since this precious exercise time is for myself, I am here already, I should be 100% in it!

I am not sure if you also lives in a busy life like me. I certainly have my daily schedule packed from Morning to Evening. And I tried to follow my schedule day by day. It made me exhausted sometimes. It is like at first I have a goal, so I have multipal steps to execute in order to acheve my goal, it soon occupied all my daily schedule. Later my goal becomes follow the schedule and finish everything in my tast list. It is good to stick with my goals, but I feel I am runing in a treadmill, I am just keep on going and going, without a break, I soon become worn out.

In order to change this situation, I decided to do more exercise and spend more time alone with myself. I want to listen to my heart and discover what’s the important to me. Furthermore, I need to find out what made me lost my peace, and what made me can’t focus in every current moment.

After Yoga session, I went to pray in church. It is interesting that today’s topic is stay focus too. It gave me two interesting points:

1. If you always distracted by your thoughts and can’t focus, you should prepare a piece of paper around you. Whenever you think of something and can’t focus, you write it down. Then you should tell yourself–You write it down already, now it is time to forget it and focus on what you are doing.

2. It goes deep into your distraction and find out why you can’t focus. That article said, when you can’t stay focus, don’t blame youself on it. You need to watch yourself not to blame yourself for any mistake you made. It will disturb you more. Also sometimes you can’t focus is because you are proud! Yes, you are proud, so you can’t stand that you are making some stupid mistakes that you should not. So you don’t want to forgive yourself by doing so.

Just like Terry said the other day, mistakes are given! Which means you can’t really prevent mistake in your life, the only thing you can do is to face it, accept it, handle it and forget it. It shouldn’t become something bother you, since it become past already! You don’t want to live in the past, you want to live in the current moment and embraces the future.

I really like the article, especially the 2nd point. I never realized that sometime I feel painful is because I am proud and I tend to blame myself easily. But seems it is so true.

So my suggestion today is: Stay focused! Since you are what you think!

When you talk to someone, be 100% with him, no matter he is as big as Steve Westly or as small as my three years old niece. People need equally respect no matter who they are. Also stay focus when you do thing, no matter that thing is as big as building a startup or as small as wash dishes. When you do it, you should be 100% in it. Try to do the best of it, then you are living in the best of yourself.
